PLUMBING PROBLEM GUIDES

Water Pressure

Weak flow and changes in water pressure.

Start with the pattern: one weak tap, several affected outlets, or a change across the whole home. Choose a guide to understand the checks and who can help.

Choose by symptom

A slow stream is a flow symptom, not a pressure measurement. The number of affected outlets and whether cold or hot water is involved help narrow the next step.

Common questions

Does a weak stream prove the water pressure is low?

No. Flow is what you observe at an outlet; a pressure measurement is a different task. Start with the weak-flow guide, or use the measurement guide to understand a properly recorded assessment.

Where should I start if only hot water or upstairs taps are weak?

Choose the guide that matches the already-observed pattern. Hot-only weak flow and a problem mainly upstairs have more specific routes than a whole-home cold-water comparison.

What if the flow changes rather than staying weak?

Use Water pressure keeps changing for recurrent stronger/weaker episodes. If a recorded measurement suggests excessive pressure, the high-pressure guide explains the assessment limits.
